In 1981-1982, an archaeological dig was conducted prior to the construction of the Scudders Mill Road bypass at Route 1. Archaeologists uncovered over 25,000 artifacts at this site as well as discovering very rare, substantial evidence of Lenape buildings dating back to the Late Archaic Period (3500 BC). The Wicoff House Museum has a collection of Lenni-Lenape artifacts discovered throughout the township by local residents. Please register for this free event: tinyurl.com/lenape24
