In honor of the 2026 Winter Olympics currently happening in Milan, let’s take a look at two former Olympians that have called Plainsboro home:

Rebecca Soni (March 18, 1987) – Rebecca is a six-time Olympic medalist who competed in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Summer Olympic games. She is a former world record holder in the 100-meter breaststroke and the 200-meter breaststroke and is the first woman to swim the 200-meter breaststroke in under 2 minutes 20 seconds. Between the Olympics, she also competed in plenty of national and international competitions. Rebecca was born in Freehold, NJ to Hungarian parents who emigrated from Romania. In 2005, she graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School and then went on to swim for the University of Southern California. In 2021, Soni was inducted into the Swimming Hall of Fame.

Felicia Zhang (September 22, 1993) – Felicia Zhang is a former pair figure skater who competed in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics with her skating partner, Nathan Bartholomay. She also competed in many U.S. National Championships, medaling 1st place in the Junior-level U.S. Championships in the 2009-10 season. Before partnering with Bartholomay, her skating partner of three years was Taylor Toth. Felicia was born in New York City to parents who emigrated from Beijing, China, but she grew up in Plainsboro. She graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High School in 2011 and retired from skating in 2014.

Hopefully one day there will be even more athletes to add to this list!
