Local Lenape Artifacts on Display

by | Feb 14, 2024 | History of Plainsboro, Museum Collections, Museum Events and Programs | 0 comments

The Wicoff House Museum offers rotating exhibits throughout the year. These photos are from a special display of local Lenape artifacts. The Lenape people were living right here thousands of years ago and left behind every day items that archaeologists study to learn more about how they lived. We also have photos taken during the 1982 archaeological dig of Prehistoric Site 28.Mi.90 located at the junction of Scudders Mill Road and US 1.

What kinds of artifacts do you think future archaeologists will find in a thousand years from 2024? What would they think of the every day items we use? Might our current technology appear to them as “low tech” as stone tools do to us today?
