On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, we were thrilled to host 3rd grade students from Millstone River Elementary School for a tour of the Wicoff House Museum. Students had the opportunity to study artifacts relating to Plainsboro’s farming history as well as see photographs of some of the men who, in 1919, petitioned the New Jersey State Legislature to incorporate Plainsboro Township. Built in 1878, the Wicoff House Museum was the home of John Van Buren Wicoff, one of Plainsboro’s founders and a strong proponent of a quality educational system for the children of the community. This portrait of John VB Wicoff hangs in the house’s main room. John would have been proud to see so many children eager to learn about Plainsboro’s history as they explored his life-long home.
