Here are a few vintage license plates on display in our current exhibit about early Plainsboro families. At one time, it would not have been an uncommon sight to share Plainsboro and Dey roads with tractors. The top plate from 1956 would have given a farmer permission to drive his tractor on public roads. With the number of potato farms, farms raising feed crops for animals and the multi-acre Walker-Gordon dairy farm, Plainsboro’s traffic would certainly have looked different than it does today.
